Yaz Yasmin Lawsuits

Bayer Agrees to $57 Million Settlement Program for Yaz

Bayer, the maker of birth control drugs Yaz, Yasmin, and Ocella, recently agreed to fund a settlement program for plaintiffs with $57 million. The settlement program will be for plaintiffs who claim they suffered arterial blood clots as a result of taking the birth control. Bayer believes the settlement program should resolve the vast majority of the claims against it, but the company can withdraw from the program if fewer than 97.5 percent of those who are eligible participate. Bayer also asserted that even though it agreed to this settlement, it does not admit to any wrongdoing or liability.
