Tylenol Might Dull Emotional Pain Too

A study conducted by a psychologist at Ohio State University found that Tylenol and acetaminophen may have a dulling effect on people’s emotions. In the study people who had taken acetaminophen before being shown pictures designed to induce a range of emotions on average said they felt less happy and sad than those people given a placebo. Doctors reviewing the study said it suggests that the drug may have a broader impact by “muffling all emotions.” However, they also cautioned that this was only a small preliminary study and the effect on human emotions, while interesting, was very small.
