Study Finds CTE in 96 Percent of Deceased NFL Players Examined

A recent article on msn.com reported that CTE may be a bigger problem for ex-NFL players than originally thought. A recent study of the brains of 91 deceased former NFL players found signs of CTE in 96% of them. The study also found CTE in 79% of the brains of all football players they examined. CTE is a degenerative brain disease and is linked to repetitive brain trauma which includes concussions. The disease can only be diagnosed after a person has died. The doctors who performed the study stressed that CTE is a very real disease and can have serious consequences.
